b + w

Even though I'm enjoying my time at home recuperating from a busy sophomore year, I can't help but start planning for my apartment in the fall! Dorm life is gone forever, and I can't say I'm going to miss communal bathrooms and university mattresses and furniture.

I definitely want to start with a clean slate for my home away from home and use fresh colors that I've never decorated with before. Growing up, I've decorated with green and pink, purple, and pink and orange. Freshman and sophomore year, I decorated with turquoise and yellow.  So basically I've used almost every color under the rainbow. Why not go with black and white!

I love color, but I'm looking forward to experimenting with a sleek palate and adding colorful touches around the space. Black and white is classic and constant; always in style. My scheme for next year is black, white, and gold with pops of color. Très chic!

I can't wait to share the finished space in August when I'm moved in but I wanted to share some spaces that are inspiring me right now!

And you can bet this print will be hanging above my bed. I've been obsessed with Prada Marfa for the longest time.

gladiator galore

It's the summer of the gladiator sandal.

This chic style is the perfect way to add dimension and detail to a simple summer look. With varying styles and heights to choose from anyone can try out this trend without feeling too outside your comfort zone. I can't wait to get my hands (or should I say feet) on one of these pairs.

summer workwear

This summer I am working part-time at a public relations group. I'm fortunate to work in an office space where the dress code is a sort of anything goes, and I have the freedom to wear breezy summer looks and bright colors! {keeping it modest of course}.

Below are some summer office looks that keep your workwear fresh and in season. Whether you're in a corporate office or a creative environment, these looks will keep you young and fun at work. While packing up in Atlanta last month, my mom and I were browsing the LOFT near campus. While there, I spotted some of these amazing pieces that were perfect for summer jobs and internships.

Enjoy!

brand obsession: Madewell

If you've been following "for the love of gab" for a while or just know me, then you would know the J. Crew is one of my all time favorite brands. J. Crew's classic yet trendy and overall sophisticated style is my ideal look. However, I've learned in the last few months that J. Crew is not always the most essential wardrobe pick for a college gal.

Enter Madewell.

J. Crew's sister brand, Madewell, is the perfect mixture of everyday trendy clothes with a more youthful flare that does not depart from the classic/clean style that I love. Honestly, I wish I could live in their tops, jeans, dress, shoes, bags {so basically everything they sell} oh did I mention the jewelry {swoon}.

Below, I rounded up my current favorite looks from Madewell.
{hopefully you get obsessed too!}

J U N E

IT'S JUNE!

I honestly can't believe it's already summer break and almost half way through 2015! I vividly remember being in NYC over the holidays and ringing in the new year in Midtown. Now I'm halfway through college and almost a month into summer vacation! I'm looking forward to relaxing by the pool, reuniting with friends/spending time with fam, and blogging!

I can't wait to see what the rest of 2015 holds!

Golden Globe Awards 2015 - Red Carpet Report

Happy Awards Season!!

Below are some of my favorite looks from Sunday night's Golden Globe Awards.

Some of the biggest trends I saw last night were silver metallic looks along with beautiful blush/nude tones. Classic black is always a red carpet standout. I would have to say that last night's fashion was not a disappointment. Emma Stone's pants ensemble, YES. Hosts Amy Poehler and Tina Fey SLAYED it; their jokes were totally on the mark.  There are just way too many beautiful looks to include on this post (newcomer Gina Rodriquez looked beautiful as well). But I would have to say that my best dressed last night would have to be Kate Hudson or Julianne Moore.

Enjoy!
PS. Eddie Redmayne, adorbs.

say hello to Lilly Pulitzer for Target

So if you haven't heard the AMAZING news by now, you've been living under a rock!
Tuesday night, Target announced their newest brand collaboration for the Spring and the lucky company is one of my all time favorites, Lilly Pulitzer. This marketing strategy is one for the books!

The pictures are stunning, the colors are vibrant and fabulous which make me yearn more and more for warmer weather and spring fashion. When I read about the news on Twitter last night, I was grinning from ear to ear. The hammock, umbrella, chairs, flatware, cosmetic bags, cushions, bathing suits, shorts, and cute espadrilles (swoon) are a "ticket to sunshine" (Target's slogan for the collection).

With 250 items in the collection, most of which are under $30, Lilly Pulitzer for Target is a Lilly-loving college girl's dream collection. What I love most about this collaboration is the accessibility that it will provide to those who typically can't afford to splurge on a Lilly Pulitzer shift dress each season. Lilly Pulitzer for Target is the perfect method to spread Lilly Pulitzer's sunny state of mind to all! While many criticize that this collaboration will "cheapen" the luxury brand, I believe this collab will do the exact opposite. Lilly is not selling its brand to Target, it has simply created a modified line designed for Target that will feature exclusive products and prints Lilly fans would never have access to if it weren't for this Target collab.

You can bet that I have April 19th marked on my calendar, and I'll be staked out front of the nearest Target to campus ordering everything under the bright sun.
