Academy Awards Report

Last night, the Academy Awards brought an end to award season, and the stars definitely went out in a BANG! Honestly, last night's fashion was impeccable. From Cate Blanchett to Guiliana Rancic, I honestly was glued to the television all night.  Trends I spotted on the red carpet included all shades of metallics with hints of sheer fabric, blush colors, and in contrast dark hues of blue and black. In my opinion, everyone deserved an Oscar for their fashion last night. Winter Olympic correspondents Tara Lipinski and Johnny Weir were a dynamic duo on the carpet as well! My best choices dressed included Cate Blanchett, Naomi Watts, Jennifer Lawrence, Giuliana Rancic and the breathtaking Lupita Nyong'o. Lupita's light blue Prada gown mimicked the waters of her hometown Nairobi, which I thought was a great homage to her roots. 

Ellen DeGeneres killed it as host of the show, and she had me in stitches the entire night. The Academy Awards felt like one big party with her, and that made the show simply a joy to watch. Pharrell and Pink gave memorable performances as well. All in all, last was a beautiful night for fashion, movie, and celebrity lovers!

let's "march" into March!

In my last blog post, I shared some of my favorite fashion choices that I think are perfect for the upcoming warmer weather. However, as the beginning of March is upon us and the official opening of the spring solstice is around the corner, I thought it would be great to share some pictures of my spring favorites including warm weather mocktails (substitute champagne for sparkling cider), light "spring-y" foods, and my favorite flowers (ie. hydrangeas)! Consistent 75 degree temps and the shining sun make each of these essentials even more glorious!
